Liza Young

Leslie was married for over 2 decades to an emotionally abusive man. Hear how she began to recognize what she was experiencing as abuse, how her church abandoned her, what it was like for her children, how she began to set boundaries and speak up for herself, how she rediscovered her worth and how she healed  through therapy and her faith.

Originally from the suburbs of Los Angeles, Leslie and her family moved to Montana in 2013. But well before that, she was in an ongoing affair with words. Some encouragement from teachers in her childhood led her to immerse herself in story and writing ever since. The story she can't stop telling is how God saw her, pursued her, and held her through a difficult marriage and then divorce.

She writes most often about how knowing our identity as Beloved changes everything. She loves any time she gets with her two teenagers, reading all the books, writing, mentoring, and speaking to women, eating good food, and vintage shopping. She always has a mug of tea cooling in a room she's no longer in, and since moving to Montana, her relationship with winter needs prayer.

Her Instagram is @leslie.trovato and she writes a free, bi-monthly newsletter called Small Affairs, where she shares more of her story and writes about living defined by our Belovedness in every day affairs.
